Resumen
As the roll-out of fifth-generation mobile communications networks takes place around the world. Researchers join efforts to start the development of the next generation, the 6G. For the sixth generation, even more, demanding requirements in terms of frequency and security are expected. In this context, for this work the probability of secrecy outage of a hybrid radio frequency (RF) network and visible light communications (VLC) in the presence of a spy. It is assumed that the data is transmitted by RF and VLC, simultaneously, following a proposed multiplexing scheme. In addition, both users have multi-homing capabilities, so they are able to receive data from both access points simultaneously. For performance analysis, an integral expression and an asymptotic expression of the secrecy outage probability are formulated and both are validated via Monte Carlo simulations. The results obtained show that the multiplexing of the signal between RF and VLC increases the performance in terms of secrecy since, in this way, it is possible to take advantage of the best characteristics of both domains.
