dc.description.abstractThe coupling characteristics of a novel kind of directional couplers composed by two parallel non-conventional waveguides are theoretically analyzed in details.The coupling length as a function of the operating wavelength and their optical and geometrical parameters are determined by an efficient frequency domain finite element method.
