Esporte e cidadania: bairro Restinga, em Porto Alegre

Abstract

Este estudo discute a relação entre o fenômeno esportivo e a construção da cidadania, analisando o papel do esporte na sociedade brasileira e o porquê de o esporte ser considerado um instrumento legítimo para a inclusão social, presente em políticas sociais preventivas, principalmente em áreas de risco social. O objetivo é o de indicar o esporte como um elemento potencialmente capaz de auxiliar no desenvolvimento da percepção de cidadania. A análise revelou as apropriações do esporte por diferentes iniciativas, como estratégia para a construção da cidadania, destacando-se a participação da sociedade civil nestas iniciativas.

This study discusses the relationship between the sporting phenomenon and the construction of the citizenship, analyzing the paper of the sport in the Brazilian, society and the reason of the sport to be considered a legitimate instrument for the social inclusion, present in preventive social politics, mainly in areas of social risk. The objective is it of indicating the sport as an element capable to aid in the development of the citizenship perception. The analysis revealed the appropriations of the sport for different initiatives, as strategy for the construction of the citizenship, standing out the participation of the civil society in these initiatives.
