| dc.description | O principal objetivo desta pesquisa é examinar o impacto do Plano Nacional de Assistência Estudantil (Pnaes) na permanência/evasão dos estudantes no Centro Acadêmico do Agreste da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (CAA/UFPE). Trata-se de um estudo de caso envolvendo os estudantes inscritos no processo seletivo da Assistência Estudantil entre os semestres letivos de 2016.1 a 2017.2. Os dados foram coletados na Diretoria de Assistência Estudantil (DAE) e no Núcleo de Tecnologia da Informação (NTI) da UFPE. Como metodologia, utilizamos a estatística descritiva para analisar o perfil dos estudantes elegíveis para a política de assistência e o perfil dos evadidos, a partir das variáveis presentes no banco de dados. Foram realizados testes de balanceamento com os dois grupos: bolsistas (grupo de tratamento) e não bolsistas (grupo de controle). Posteriormente, empregamos a regressão logística para mensurar o efeito da política sobre a evasão. Os principais resultados encontrados apontam que ser bolsista reduz em 55,4% as chances de evasão. Identificamos também que quanto maior for o coeficiente de rendimento, a probabilidade de evadir reduz em 44%. Por outro lado, constatamos que, quanto maior o tempo de permanência (em semestres) do estudante, maior o risco de evasão. Concluímos que a implantação da Política de Assistência Estudantil vem atingindo, entre outros objetivos, a redução nos índices de evasão dos estudantes beneficiários da mesma no Campus Acadêmico do Agreste. | |
| dc.description | The main purpose of this research is to examine the impact of the National Plan for Student Assistance (PNAES) on the graduation/withdraw rates of the students at the Academical Center of Agreste of the Federal University of Pernambuco (CAA/UFPE). This research involved a case study with students admitted in the selection process of the Student Assistance between the semesters 2016.1 - 2017.2. The data was collected at the Student Assistance Board (DAE) and at the Nucleus of Information Technology (NTI) at the UFPE. The methodology employed was a descriptive statistic to analyze the profile of the eligible students for the assistance policy and the profile of the students who withdrew, from the variables found in the database. We did balancing tests with both groups: scholarship recipients (group of treatment) and non-recipient (control group). Then, we employed the logistic regression to measure the effect of this policy on the withdraw. The main results indicated that the scholarship recipients have a 55,4% less chance of withdrawing. We also certified that the higher the coefficient of yield, the probability of withdrawal reduces by 44%. On the other hand, we verified that the longer the permanence of the students (in semesters), the higher the risk of withdrawal. In conclusion, we verified that the implementation of the Student Assistance Policy has been reaching, among other objectives, the reduction of the withdraw rates of the students who benefit from this policy at the Academical Center of Agreste. | |
