| dc.description | A doença de Parkinson (DP) é crônica e apresenta sintomas motores e não motores. O comprometimento cognitivo na DP apresenta-se de forma heterogênea e a idade pode ser um fator associado. O objetivo desse estudo foi caracterizar o perfil cognitivo de pessoas com DP e fatores associados. Trata-se de um estudo observacional, analítico, transversal desenvolvido no Ambulatório de Neurologia do Hospital das Clínicas da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco. A variável dependente foi o perfil cognitivo e as independentes: estágio da doença, idade, escolaridade, duração da doença, sexo, dose diária de levodopa, atividade laboral, estado motor, sinais de depressão. Foi realizada estatística descritiva e em seguida correlações entre a variável dependente e as independentes. 85 pacientes responderam a todos os questionários. Não foi identificada diferença significativa no perfil cognitivo avaliado pelo Mini exame do estado mental e Scales for Outcomes of Parkinson’s disease–Cognition entre os estágios da doença. O perfil cognitivo variou com a idade, sexo, atividade laboral, escolaridade, sintomas de rigidez, bradicinesia e instabilidade postural. Quando comparados idosos e não idosos por estágios da doença, foi encontrada diferença entre os grupos no escore do Scales for Outcomes of Parkinson’s disease–Cognition, na Função executiva e no Mini exame do estado mental. Aponta-se que o perfil cognitivo de pessoas com DP está associado à idade, a sintomas motores e variáveis relacionadas à reserva cognitiva. | |
| dc.description | Parkinson's disease (PD) is chronic and has both motor and non-motor symptoms. Cognitive impairment in PD is heterogeneous and age may be an associated factor. The objective of this study was to characterize the cognitive profile of people with PD and associated factors. This is an observational, analytical, cross-sectional study developed at the Neurology Outpatient Clinic of the Hospital das Clínicas of the Federal University of Pernambuco. The dependent variable was the cognitive and independent profile: disease stage, age, schooling, duration of illness, sex, levodopa daily dose, labor activity, motor status, signs of depression Descriptive statistics and then correlations between the dependent variable and the independent variables were performed. 85 patients in the study responded to all questionnaires. No significant difference was identified in the cognitive profile assessed by the Mini Mental State Examination and Scales for Outcomes of Parkinson's disease-Cognition between the stages of the disease. The cognitive profile varied with age, sex, work activity, schooling, symptoms of rigidity, bradykinesia and postural instability. When comparing the elderly and non-elderly in the stages of the disease, a difference was found between the groups in the Scales for Outcomes of Parkinson's disease-Cognition, Executive Function and Mini Mental State Examination. It is pointed out that the cognitive profile of people with PD is associated with age, motor symptoms and variables related to cognitive reserve. | |
