A. hispidum (99.9 ± 3,4 μg EQ.g⁻¹) e E. bulbosa. A análise do poder antioxidante redutor do ferro demonstrou que B. diffusa apresentou 198,08 ± 4,64 μg ET.g⁻¹ e E. bulbosa 136,1± 2,18 μg ET.g⁻¹. CAPES Many plants of the Caatinga biome are used as a therapeutic resource in this region. This work verified the bioactive potential and phytochemical profile of Acanthospermum hispidum L., Boerhavia diffusa L. and Eleutherine bulbosa (Mill) Urb. Collected in Pernambuco semiarid. The antioxidant potential was verified by DPPH (Diphenyl-picrilhydrazine) assays and reducing antioxidant power. Chemical prospection, phenol and flavonoid assay, chromatographic analysis, mass spectrometry and cytotoxic and microbiological detection were performed. A. hispidum (99.9 ± 3.4 μg EQ.g⁻¹) and E. bulbosa (113.3 ± 3.1 μg EQ.g⁻¹) presented the highest amounts of flavonoids E. bulbosa (105.1 ± 1.5 μg EAG.g⁻¹) and B. diffusa (161.0 ± 11.7 μg EAG.g⁻¹) had the highest phenol contents. The botanical species presented higher phenol and flavonoid contents, and also presented high antioxidant potential with E.bulbosa IC50 of 123.8 ± 0.2 μg.mL⁻¹ and B. diffusa of 159.9 ± 15.1 μg.mL⁻¹, not showing statistical differences for the citric acid used. Reduction power analysis showed that B. diffusa presented 198.08 ± 4.64 μg ET.g⁻¹ and E. bulbosa 136.1 ± 2.18 μg ET.g⁻¹. The tested species presented low percentages of hemolysis (below 14%). Due to the significant results of the E. bulbosa species, this was submitted to fractionation and complementary tests of cytotoxic activity against HeLa tumor lineage and antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive, Gram-negative bacteria, acid-resistant bacteria and yeast fungi. The observed results demonstrate a high antioxidant potential and a vast richness of chemical compounds through chromatographic analyzes as well as the low toxicity of species from the Caatinga biome, which justifies the popular therapeutic use of these species.
