| dc.description | A presente tese discorre sobre a trajetória do Partido Comunista Brasileiro em Alagoas entre os nos 1980 e 1991. Nossa atenção se volta para a reorganização da agremiação no processo de abertura política da Ditadura Militar, a sua tentativa de inserção na cena política alagoana dos anos 1980 até a crise no início da década seguinte que culminou na mudança da sigla para Partido Popular Socialista. Naquela conjuntura, analisamos a atuação política do PCB nos estertores do Regime Militar e nos primeiros anos da Nova República. Na tentativa de determinar como o PCB alagoano enfrentou e deu respostas às demandas que se lhe apresentaram, analisamos principalmente o órgão oficial do partido durante a década de 1980, o jornal Voz da Unidade entre os anos de 1980 e 1991 e a documentação produzida pelos pecebistas alagoanos. Buscamos compreender as dificuldades enfrentadas pelos comunistas em terras caetés, para se reintroduzir no cenário político da transição da Ditadura para a Nova República. Esta tese visa demonstrar como naquela conjuntura, apesar do partido ter experimentado uma crescente participação nos processos políticos formais, não conseguiu ampliar sua influência e reconhecimento nos movimentos sociais locais mais importantes, particularmente no movimento dos trabalhadores, onde desenvolvera, antes de 1964, importante papel de direção. | |

| dc.description | The present thesis discusses the trajectory of the Brazilian Communist Party in State of Alagoas between the years 1980 and 1991. Our attention is focused on the reorganization of the association in the process of political opening of the Military Dictatorship, its attempt to be inserted in the Alagoan political scene of the 1980s until the crisis in the beginning of the following decade that culminated in the change of the acronym for Popular Socialist Party. At that juncture, we analyzed the political action of the PCB in the ruts of the Military Regime and in the early years of the New Republic. In an attempt to determine how the Alagoan PCB faced and responded to the demands presented to it, we analyzed mainly the official organ of the party during the 1980’s, the newspaper Voice of Unity between 1980 and 1991 and the documentation produced by the communists in Alagoas. We seek to understand the difficulties faced by communists in Alagoas to reintroduce themselves in the political scenario of the transition from the Dictatorship to the New Republic. This thesis aims at demonstrating how in that conjuncture, although the party experienced a growing participation in formal political processes, it failed to increase its influence and recognition in the most important local social movements, particularly in the workers' movement, where it had developed, before 1964, an important role steering. | |
