O tema Estações do Ano deve
The present study aims to analyze an application of a didactic sequence on the
theme of the seasons. This theme is situated on the axis "earth and universe" in
official teaching documents, covering the Seasons of the Year, Earth movements and
the Solar System. In the textbooks and during the classes, this theme is presented
very superficial and with imagistic idealization divergent from the Brazilian reality. The
qualitative / quantitative descriptive and field approach allowed the application of a
Didactic Sequence that involved designing, questionnaire application and expository /
dialogued class. The results pointed out difficulties to the students, regarding the
understanding of the occurrence of unequal Stations of the Year in the world and the
movements of rotation and translation, with formation of days and nights. The theme
Seasons of the Year should be taught in an environmental / regional view, giving
students better understanding, using imagery related to the reality of the students to
the classroom or taking the students against them in their real environment and
physical state.
