Esta dissertação tem como principal objetivo investigar o processo criativo do designer de superfície têxtil dos três principais municípios que compõem o APL do Polo de Confecções do Agreste de Pernambuco (Caruaru, Toritama e Santa Cruz do Capibaribe). O recorte da pesquisa se justifica devido ao grande volume de produção de moda encontrado nessas cidades. Nesse estudo, leva-se em consideração o contexto econômico, cultural e social em que o designer está inserido, analisando como o mercado regional, caracterizado pela forte incidência da cópia, afeta ou direciona o ato criativo e demonstrando os limites que o mercado submete à criação, sobretudo à criação estampas. Propõe-se, nesse interim, uma revisão bibliográfica acerca da cultura de consumo sob a perspectiva do consumo coletivo e a dos fatores da Imitação e Diferenciação em Moda, bem como reflexões acerca dos sistemas complexos num contexto social, cultural e econômico em que o designer está submetido, sob a ótica de Morin (2006), a fim de adensar a discussão sobre o cenário da cópia já estabelecida na região estudada. Além disso, investigamos a prática do designer e os caminhos não lineares que eles tomam diante do fenômeno social do contexto. Na ocasião, os designers foram entrevistados individualmente e cada um dos profissionais relatou o seu processo de criação de estampa, fornecendo também os respectivos documentos em processo (arquivos de referência, esboços, etc.), à luz dos estudos da crítica genética no processo criativo encontrado em Salles (2006). Como resultado, apresentamos as recorrências e principais características pertinentes ao processo criativo dos designers atuantes na região, diante do ambiente cultural e mercadológico em que estes profissionais se inserem, demonstrando os principais aspectos da atuação dos designers que fazem parte do APL do Agreste Pernambucano.This dissertation has as main objective to investigate the creative process of the textile surface designer of the three main regions which compose the Local Productive Arrangement (LPA) of the agreste clothing pole (agreste - terminology used to designate a transition zone between forest and desert) of the state of Pernambuco where are located the cities of Caruaru, Toritama and Santa Cruz do CapibaribeThe purpose of the research is justified due to the large volume of fashion production recognised in these regions. This study takes into account economic, cultural and social context in which the designer is inserted, analysing how the regional busynesses, characterised by the strong incidence of the plagiarism affects or directs the creative act and demonstrates the limits which the market submits to the creation, and above all, for the creation of prints. It is proposed, in the meantime, a bibliographical review about consumer culture from the perspective of collective consumption and from the factors of imitation and differentiation in Fashion, as well as reflections about the complex systems under a social, cultural and economic context in which the designer is submitted - from the point of view of Morin (2006) - in order to deepen the discussion about the non-authorised copy scenario already established in the studied regions. In addition, we investigate the empirical practice of the designer and the non-linear paths that they take in the context of the social phenomenon. At the time, The designers were interviewed individually and each of the professionals reported on their stamp creation process, also providing the respective documents in process (reference files, sketches, etc.), under the light of the studies of genetic criticism in the creative process found in Salles (2006). As a result, we present the recurrences and main characteristics pertinent to the creative process of the designers working in the region, given the cultural and market environment in which these professionals are inserted, demonstrating the main aspects of the performance of the designers that are part of the agreste of Pernambuco state LAP.
