The disposal of effluents containing dyes by industries is harmful to the environment and to living beings. In some cases, it can be lethal to certain forms of marine life due to the presence of metals and chlorinated substances in the chemical structure of dyes. Among the various industries that use dyes, the textile industry stands out, which uses a wide variety of synthetic dyes in its various operations and ends up generating a greater volume of effluent containing these compounds. Conventional treatment methods adopted to degrade dye effluents are not always efficient, due to factors such as pH, temperature and dye concentration. Usually, two or more combined treatments are applied to achieve good degradation. In order to provide greater efficiency in the degradation of these compounds, reducing costs and time, researchers have been studying ways to hybridize treatments. The present study provides a bibliographic review about Hybrid Processes for the treatment of effluents in the textile industry for the removal of dyes. The Bibliographic Review of this work was carried out based on the research of scientific articles in several databases. Through this review it was possible to observe that several authors obtained high rates of dye mineralization, reduction in color, in the Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and in the Total Organic Carbon (TOC) content in low experimental times.
