Representações de um "Sertão Sangrento"

Abstract

This work analyzes the songs "Vidas Secas" and "Sertão Sangrento", both present in the album Vidas Secas, released in 2016, by the punk horror band caicoense Sertão Sangrento, in order to identify the representations made about the Northeastern backlands and reasons to take up this issue. In the development of this research, we approach the context of the emergence of the musical genre Horror Punk and how the band Sertão Sangrento is inserted in it. We used, as sources, oral reports of the members of Sertão Sangrento, a fanzine produced by the band, in addition to his album compact disc music. Linked to the sources listed, we held discussions according to authors who helped us to understand the subject studied. Finally, we come to the result that the reason why the band Sertão Sangrento portrayed the sertão in their songs is linked mainly to the ideals of protest and indignation with the difficulties lived in times of drought by the Northeast.
