A transgressão no religioso: Exus e mestres nos rituais da umbanda

Abstract

A reflection on the idea of transgression in Umbanda‟s religious universe through gira‟s ritual and some of its spiritual entities is proposed. The main elements that drive the historical process of Umbanda‟s constitution and the ones that will compose its religious cosmos are presented. There is an effort to emphasize the relationship between Umbanda and other religious practices, especially Jurema, allowing the ideas of order and disorder to be perceived as constitutive of the world of tradition
