dc.description.abstractThe postgraduate stage stands out as a fundamental stage in the professional training of students of higher education, enrolled in specialization courses, masters, doctorates or postdoctoral studies. The purpose of this study was to investigate the institutional process of the postgraduate stage in the Ministério Público do Rio Grande do Norte [Public Prosecutors of the State of Rio Grande do Norte] (MPRN), called "MP Residência" and its interrelationship between theory and practice. This study tried to understand the functioning of this important institutional process that involves research, extension, cooperation and emphasis on the professional integration of the student, according to Complementary Law No. 462, of January 2, 2012. The diagnosis comprised quantitative and qualitative steps, being developed in two phases. Initially, a documentary research in the management reports available in the MPRN Internship Sector, from April / 2015 to March / 2017, aimed at the knowledge and characterization of postgraduate students in MPRN. In the second phase, analyzes of the traineeship monitoring reports were carried out, with emphasis on the performance evaluation by the supervisor and postgraduate students. In the data processing, the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet editor software was used, with discussion and interpretation of the data. The results of the characterization of the 68 postgraduate students show that women predominate, with ages varying from 26 to 30 years, working in the legal area, with a probationary period of up to 24 months. Regarding the Supervisor's evaluation criteria, the students' ethical conduct prevailed, and among the evaluation criteria of the trainees, the practical knowledge for their professional training prevailed. So, it is concluded that the that the postgraduate stage in the MPRN complies with the recommendations of the legislation, contributing through its social function, in the trainee's learning for the citizen life and for the work.
