The phenology of Ceiba glaziovii (Kuntze) K.Schum. known as Barriguda, it was studied in a seasonally dry tropical forest fragment in the municipality of Macaíba - Rio Grande do Norte. 34 individuals were observed, the data of defoliation, leafing, flower bud production, flowering and fruiting were recorded during the period from August 2017 to March 2020. It was observed the dependence of the leafing and defoliation phenophases with the seasonality of precipitation. The bud production, flowering and fruiting period occurred during the dry season, where flowers are more visible to pollinators when the vegetation is leafless, being a common strategy among the Caatinga species, and fruiting also occurred in the period of drought, favoring the spread of propagules by the wind, where the wind speed increases during the dry period. The importance of long-term phenological monitoring is emphasized, so that it can assess the greater or lesser interference of biotic and abiotic factors in phenological patterns.
