Resumen
The present work aims to examine the presence of elements relevant to the
feminist debate among working class women, specifically residents of the Felipe
Camarão neighborhood, a periphery of the capital of Potiguar. The background
that delimits the work is related to the emergence and development of
heteropatriarchy as a system of gender segregation and domination, oppression
and exploitation of women and its subsequent reconfiguration along with
capitalism and racism, which will constitute themselves in the heteropatriarchalracist order. -capitalist, from which a specific exploited subject emerges:
racialized working women. The work points out, in the face of the constitution of
that order, the recurrent resistance of the oppressed subjects and prioritizes the
response of the feminist movement. The research from which this work originates
has a quantitative-qualitative approach. Bibliographic survey and empirical data
collection techniques were used for its accomplishment. The field research was
carried out with working women living in the Felipe Camarão neighborhood, one
of the communities with the highest concentration of poverty in the City of Natal,
state of RN. The survey heard twenty-six women, eighteen young women who
were between twenty and thirty-five years old and with high schooling and eight
adult and elderly women who were between thirty-five and sixty years old and a
low level of schooling. . Data collected in a face-to-face meeting with women were
used, as well as in a virtual questionnaire and finally in two semi-structured faceto-face interviews. Data analysis showed that the women heard, even though
they knew about historical advances on women's struggle and considered the
social importance of these transformations, demonstrate difficulties in
understanding the path taken by these struggles, with an evident lack of
knowledge and/or difficulty in understanding. of basic elements for the feminist
movement, such as the meaning of machismo and feminism and their
interrelationships, especially for older women with less access to educational
development. Finally, the study found that despite the undoubted historical
relevance of feminism for the transformation of women's lives, open dialogue and
the politicization of the debate with working women - especially those who are
outside the privileged spaces of knowledge production - is still important. a weak
point in the performance of the movement.
