Resumen
Through its material and immaterial symbolic elements, the festival states multiple appropriations
in the city. Therefore, by demarcation, appropriation, perception, and experience
of the territory, are generated the territorialities. In this point of view, this research
has as objective to understand the territorial appropriations mediated by social
practices and subjective representations in the Campina Grande's June Festival, in
Paraíba (2016-2017). To achieve this, the methodological procedures were based in
qualitative approach, with use of the field diary, participant observation, interviews,
open dialogues, virtual netnography/ethnography, photographic and video recordings.
From the investigations performed we discuss the territorialities starred by festeiros,
public authority and private initiative, in the neighborhood festivities, religious celebrations,
in the central area of the city and in the Parque do Povo. Consequently, such
results made it possible to understand that, even in the midst of commercial logic and
spectacularization present in the Parque do Povo, the spontaneous celebrations in the
neighborhoods do not cease to exist, instead both coexist, reinvent and recreate
themselves from the territorial dispute.
