Resumen
That this research seeks to analyze how the Do It Yourself (DIY) tutorials, in Portuguese do it
yourself, published on YouTube can be an agent of resumption of cooperation through active
subjects using the platform. The qualitative research took the channel “Amanda and
Fernando” as the object of study, as a theoretical and methodological resource the categories
of mutual interaction and reactive interaction were used (PRIMO, 2000) to analyze the means
that enable cooperation. Sixteen videos were analyzed, including the ten most viewed DIY
tutorials on the channel. As a theoretical contribution, the categories of cooperation were
mobilized (SENNETT, 2012), craftsman (SENNETT, 2013), cognitive surplus (SHIRKY,
2011), cooperative consumption (BAUMAN, 1998). It was noted that despite the youtuber
being the main promoter of knowledge through DIY tutorials and acting as a craftsman both
in terms of making objects and passing on knowledge, users through mutual interaction
represented through comments also share their knowledge. as a way to improve DIY tutorials.
Thus, it is concluded that cooperation happens through mutual interaction, allowing horizontal
knowledge to connect the active subjects of the channel and benefit both youtuber, with new
knowledge and the users who will do the DIY tutorial, now improved.
