The study of atmospheric pressure plasma technology has become a prominent area of research due to various applications in health, medicine and dentistry, pollution control, material processing, electrochemistry and other fields. The objective of this work is to use the technique of Optical Emission Spectroscopy (EEO), a tool for plasma diagnosis, detection of reactive species and their identification, as well as an analysis of how they behave using the methods used in the study process of obtaining plasma by Dielectric Barrier Discharge (DBD), aiming to improve the knowledge about dentistry applications. Special attention is given to the biological and surface effects of plasma-generated reactive species. To perform this analysis, it was necessary to follow the article search steps to perform the literature review, data retrieval experiments and reactive species analysis. The results of the graphs show the plasma spectrum, with the respective parameters, as well as the identification of its chemical species, with thermal images of some treated samples, critical analyzes for dentistry. It was concluded that the study of reactive species is very important for several areas, especially dentistry, because the species, besides making superficial modifications, produce surface energy, also inactivate unwanted bacteria and cells, by sterilizing effect.
