Promoção de saúde bucal nas consultas de crescimento e desenvolvimento na atenção primária: um relato de colaboração interprofissional

Abstract

INTRODUCTION Childcare is the main pillar of comprehensive health care for children. In the context of Primary Health Care, the Growth and Development - CD consultations are the materialization of this practice, where Interprofessional Collaboration can be seen as a potentiator of actions and results. OBJECTIVE With the proposal to highlight the integrality of the care directed to the infantile public, an experience of the partnership of the Multiprofessional Residency Program in Basic Attention of the Multicampi School of Medical Sciences of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte with a unit of the Health Strategy of the Family. METHODOLOGY The consultations were carried out in the "collective and shared" modality, where the children were classified by age group and established a schedule, counting on the participation of social worker, dental surgeon, nurse, pharmacist, physiotherapist, speech therapist, nutritionist, together with the preceptor nurse of said unit. RESULTS The actions took place in the nurse's room, where a scenario was set up for its execution. Initially the consultation, a chat was stimulated with the mothers / guardians, where later one of the professionals explained about their expertise in child health care, opening for interprofessional collaboration; and in the end, traditional surveillance measures were taken for childcare consultations. CONCLUSION The interaction among the professions, within each expertise, could promote aspects of prevention and promotion of Oral Health, thus enhancing the work of Dentistry.
