Geodiversidade no município de Caicó: uma proposta de roteiro geoturístico

Abstract

The county of Caico, with presenting an expressive geological and geomorphological diversity, was selected to be the study area of this work, which propose a geotourism MapGuide to the city, aiming to publicize and valorize local geodiversity, which is, sometimes, neglected. Geodiversity, despite being a recente term, according to Gray (2004), was first time mentioned on Malvern Conference, in 1992. It consists in variety of geological environments, active phenomena and processes that originate landscapes. Based on bibliography, mapping and fieldwork, it was possible to finalize this work, and it is expected that it serve as a basis to other people who want to work in this perspective. However, much still needs to be done to accomplish the work proposal successfully.
