Generalizações obtidas a partir do tratamento por diferentes modelos terapêuticos

Abstract

INTRODUCTION: Phonological disorder is a linguistic disorder characterized by inappropriate use of the phonemes of the tongue and of unknown etiology, characterized mainly by omission, substitution and simplification during the production of phonemes. The speech therapy based on phonology aims to reorganize the phonological system, aiming at the generalization and improvement of speech intelligibility. The generalization process is characterized by increased production and correct use of trained earphones in other untrained contexts or environments, leading to more efficient therapy and shorter treatment time. OBJECTIVES: To verify the generalized targets in the therapy of children with phonological disorder. METHODOLOGY: Cross-sectional and qualitative study, conducted with children with phonological disorder, as inclusion criteria was considered not to have undergone previous speech therapy, age between 5 and 8 years old, and no other changes in the other fields of language except phonology. The therapy was performed in weekly appointments. RESULTS: The generalization to other phonemes in the word occurred in all therapeutic models worked, being ABAB and Max Opposition. However, the highest percentages of correct answers were obtained in the ABAB Model in the mild deviation group. CONCLUSION: All subjects in different severities added phonemes to their phonological systems, and the subject that presented the most generalization to other phonemes was treated by the ABAB Withdrawal model.
