Resumen
The work proposed here consists of research with a qualitative approach on joint practice in
music education, more precisely, in schools specializing in music, focusing on
the Escola de Música Santa Cecília in Natal/RN. The research sought to understand and
describe the importance of group practice for musical learning, also focusing on aspects
inherent to the personal development and well-being of students. As data collection
instruments, semi-structured interviews and questionnaires were used with students, former
students and professors of the institution, seeking a deeper understanding and a better
understanding of the proposed theme. Regarding the methodology, a bibliographic review was
carried out, which basically addressed the following topics: group practice; instrumental
learning; specialized music schools; instrumental practice. During the research, it was possible
to observe reports of difficulties in the theoretical-practical development of the participants that
were able to be remedied through group classes together and ensemble practicing and
interaction with other instruments and students, in addition, we noticed the musical and subjects'
personal skills to be improved in these practices.
