dc.description.abstractThe waste accumulation generated by the growing disposal of electroelectronics equipment, caused by its rapid obsolescence, has affected significant impact on the environment. With the exception of some appliances, most still don’t have adequate disposal, required by the Solid Waste National Policy. The work focused on the study of recycling of printed circuit boards (PCB) residue from obsolete computers, inserting them in the composition of mortars for settlement of block, to be used in construction. These printed boards were previously processed, to be applied in the form of powder, and the composition of mortars. Then, five mortars were made: one as reference without the presence of residues, two with 10% and 15% substitution of the cement mass for the powder, and two others with the addition of the same PCB powder percentage without replacing any other component of the blend. In all, tests of mechanical resistance to compression and flexure, bulk density, water retention and others performed. These tests revealed that mortar with residue incorporation obtained satisfactory normative results for the considered percentages of substitution and addition.
