Resumen
In view of the growing dependence on the use of electricity, and in compliance with
the national resolutions regulating micro and small-scale renewable energy sources, the
general objective of this work is to present a project to generate energy from flexible
photovoltaic solar cells to the Laboratory of Computer Engineering and Automation (LECA)
of the Department of Computer Engineering and Automation (DCA) of the Federal University
of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), with the help of software that was prepared to present the
expectation generation and return on investment.
To analyze the type of surface most suitable for the application of the solar cells of
the project, efficiency tests were carried out. The tests consisted of verifying the efficiency
from wavy, flat, isolated cells and arrays, and a prototype of a photovoltaic solar panel from a
wavy fiber cement tile and flexible photovoltaic solar cells. The choice of wavy fiber cement
is due to the fact that this type of cover covers 49% of the buildings in Brazil, being the cost
an attractive factor for its use. Flexible photovoltaic solar cells, in turn, also present
themselves at low cost due to the manufacturing technique. After the assembly of the
prototype and execution of the efficiency tests, the most appropriate surface was chosen for
the project and a cost evaluation of the prototype was carried out, in relation to a commercial
photovoltaic module.
