Resumen
Introduction: Fibromyalgia (FM) is a disease characterized by generalized chronic pain, hyperalgesia and low pain limit, being of little known etiology and one of the most frequent rheumatic conditions. The most common clinical form of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is polyarthritis of small and large joints in a chronic destructive manner, which may lead to functional limitation. Shoulder bursitis (BO) is a painful inflammation that occurs in the shoulder bursa and is characterized by episodes of myofascial pain, affecting the upper limbs and the cervical region. Objective: To evaluate and compare the catastrophization, kinesiophobia, probability of dozing and functionality of individuals with rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and shoulder bursitis. Methodology: This is a descriptive observational cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach. Ten individuals with rheumatoid arthritis, ten with shoulder bursitis and ten with fibromyalgia were evaluated through the application of 3 questionnaires and 2 functional tests. In all, 30 patients selected for convenience at the Physiotherapy School Clinic of the Faculty of Health Sciences of Trairí, located in the municipality of Santa Cruz / RN, aged 26 to 71, participated in the study. Results: Most sociodemographic variables do not present significant characteristics in relation to age, schooling, and time of diagnosis. However, the variable body mass index (BMI) indicates a significant association between the RA and FM groups. Most of the variables in the analyzed groups do not present significant characteristics such as Timed Up and Go (TUG), EPWORTH sleepiness scale and the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia (TSK) kinesiophobia scale and in the physical activity domain of the Fear Avoidance Beliefs Questionnaire Questionnaire (FABQ). The other variables presented significant characteristics in relation to the 6-Minute Walk Test (TC6) and to the work domain of the Fear Avoidance Beliefs Questionnaire (FABQ) questionnaire. Conclusion: It can be observed that individuals with rheumatoid arthritis had lower indexes regarding functionality. Regarding kinesiophobia, individuals with fibromyalgia and shoulder bursitis obtained higher scores, however, individuals with fibromyalgia have higher scores regarding the possibility of dozing.
