Diagnóstico dos controles ambientais em postos revendedores de combustíveis do município de Natal - RN

Abstract

Fuel dealer stations are a recurring theme in discussions regarding the risks of environmental accidents, since the activity is considered to be potentially or partially polluting, and may cause impacts on the environment, on human beings and their facilities. Therefore, they need to be in accordance with the norms and laws in force, being able to develop their activities properly licensed by the competent environmental agency, presenting environmental management as a preventive form, as well as equipment of adequate environmental controls. The objective of this work is to carry out a diagnosis of the environmental controls necessary for a correct management at fuel retail stations in the city of Natal / RN. The work was developed by a bibliographic study and, subsequently, information collected from one hundred and six (106) stations in the city were considered, using the check list tool and on-site surveys. The results obtained show the current situation of environmental licensing and management; environmental control equipment; emergency actions; conformities and non-conformities. After analyzing the results, it can be concluded that 67% of the posts had some disagreement in their environmental management, and, therefore, the need for improvements is present periodically. Finally, actions were proposed that range from minor adjustments to more elaborate works to meet the relevant legislation and are in line with environmental adaptations.
