A relação entre arte e política: possíveis expressões de enfrentamento e contra-hegemonia

Abstract

The objective of this research is to investigate the meanings produced by the relations between the artistic universe and the political universe, through some artistic-political expressions of the Brazilian context. For this, the reality is transposed through three phenomena: on the one hand, expressions of permanent confrontation, located here by the artistic activism; on the other hand, the insurgent and temporally located confrontation represented here by the #OcupaMinc Movement, which took place in 2016; finally, the censorial acts that certain groups / individuals of the Brazilian political scene conducted in relation to artistic works in the year 2017, specifically the exhibition “Queermuseu” and the performance “La Bête”, by Wagner Schwartz. Through the understanding of culture and, by extension, of art as possible counter-hegemonic, based on the gramscian concept of hegemony, this text brings a link between bibliographies, news stories and contents - images, videos and texts - published on the Internet, seeking to construct a broad panorama about the object of study. In this way, the research reveals a complex, mobile and fruitful scenario in the relation between art and politics, of different works and sayings, in which art, undergoing refutations and tensions of politics, also produces them, creating spaces that enhance its counter- hegemony.
