Resumen
The theme was chosen with the purpose of raising questions about the evaluation carried out in the Infant Education in the Municipality of Pendências (RN), this theme is an extremely important approach both in the life of the teacher and the student. When we come across the subject of evaluation what comes in our mind is to evaluate something, analyze, observe, diagnose advances in a given area. Infantile Education is no different, teachers, over the years, have felt difficulties to carry out this task, there are so many bureaucratic roles to be filled that end up leaving aside what really matters, student learning. The evaluation serves as an auxiliary tool for the teacher, favoring the diagnosis regarding the performance and progress of the student in the teaching / learning process. To evaluate is to perceive the students' progress in a unique way, to value each progress in an essential way, to recognize that all children carry an extensive baggage of previous knowledge acquired in their relationship with society and the environment to which they are inserted. Evaluation is important since it is a tool and an indispensable instrument in student development. We define that for evaluation to be carried out effectively, the teacher needs to observe and record all moments of the child, it is through these observations that he creates opportunities for the children to develop the necessary skills and to help them to be critical citizens. a study was developed by means of bibliographical researches, data were necessary for the development and conclusion of the same from studies of authors like, Hoffmann (2000), Diniz (2004), BRASIL (1998), Luckesi (2009).
