Resumen
This research was conducted under the theme of teaching practices. Its general objective is to
ascertain if the musical experiences of the Study Group Orff-Schulwerk, from the city of
Natal, based on the Carl Orff approach influenced the teaching practices of the music teachers
who took part in the group. The specific objectives are to identify what motivates these
teachers to continue in the group, as well as the benefits entailed by the group in their
personal and professional lives. The methodology used in this research was the study of
interviews. The analyzed data was collected through the technique of semi -structured
interviews registered in audio, which was transcribed and cataloged later. The results show a
positive outcome on the music teaching of those who took part in that study group, and also a
noticeable personal and professional development to most interviewees. This research
elucidated the importance of a deep contact with the active methodologies and approaches of
music teaching as a way to achieve development and a reflexive continuing education of the
music teacher.
