Impacto da pandemia no setor boneleiro do Seridó

Abstract

With the advancement of the new coronavirus pandemic, the world faced not only a health crisis, but also a major social and economic crisis. This economic crisis has affected many sectors of the economy. Industries stopped their activities, several businesses were forced to close their doors in compliance with the decrees that imposed social isolation measures as necessary. In view of this scenario, the following research question is raised: What were the impacts of the pandemic on the caps and hats industries of the Caicó polo? What measures have been taken by these industries to cope with the economic crisis triggered by the pandemic? A survey was carried out among these industries using the Google Forms tool to understand the main impacts suffered by these companies and what measures were adopted during this period. The results showed that, although facing a similar scenario, some companies suffered negative impacts in the pandemic, and others obtained positive outcomes. It was identified that the level of education of decision makers may have influenced these results.
