The present work has as a objective to promote the interface between Occupational Therapy and Pedagogy in hospital educational care in Casa DurvalPaiva (polyclinic hospital class), proposing the use of a functional folding and table – model SGAT (Study Group on Assistive Technology of UFRN), created in the first semester of this year to develop the school activities for children and teenagers who are being treated at this hospital. This way, low-cost pedagogical assistive devices and adaptations were developed to be used in hospital teaching care. The literature review shows that hospital class has been a space for studies and research, in addition to a better understanding of the school’s role in the hospital and guarantee the right to continue the studies of hospitalized children and teenagers, with emphasis on the contributions of Fonseca (1999; 2008; 2011; 2015), Ceccim (1997; 1999), Assis (2009), Araújo and Rocha (2018), among other important authors in the area. To conduct this research, interviews were conducted, observation with participants for the data collection and semi-structure interviews with two teachers of the hospital class. The data were analyzed trough content analysis proposed by Minayo. The results show that low-cost devices adapted through assistive technology help the hospital care. Therefore, this research shows that the pedagogy associated with occupational therapy contributes to educational actions and the continuity of school activities performed by hospitalizes children and adolescents. However, research linking the two areas of knowledges is still scarce. Therefore, further studies are proposed, seeing to deepen this knowledge. In addition, a collaborative consultancy is proposed too, relating assistive technology and hospital pedagogy, these two meet the needs of learners and teachers and contribute to school inclusion in the hospital.
