Older people may present a deficit in the intake of energy, macronutrients and fiber, especially when they become dependent or present limitations regarding aspects related to commensality and functional mobility. Functional mobility is the individual's ability to move around with balance and perform daily activities. In this sense, the aim of this study was tonalyze the association between functional mobility and food intake of energy, macronutrients and fiber in the elderly of the International Mobility in Aging Study (IMIAS) Brazil. This is a cross-sectional study, nested to a cohort, whose data from 157 elderly were obtained in Wave 3 = 2016 of IMIAS Brasil. Functional mobility was analyzed using the application of the Short Physical Performance Battery scale (SPPB), consisting of three tests that sequentially assess static balance standing, usual step gait speed, and muscle strength of the lower limbs. To evaluate food and dietary intake, an R24h was applied, and after standardization, nutrient analysis was performed in easy diet Brazil software. Get was calculated according to FAO/WHO (2001) and the adequacy of macronutrients and fiber was used the fao/who recommendation (2003). The results showed that the proportion of reduced mobility was 17.2%. The mean protein (g) and fiber (g) values consumed by the elderly with reduced mobility were lower compared to those with preserved mobility (p = 0.040 and p = 0.006, respectively). We observed a higher frequency of consumption insufficient for all macronutrients and fiber in the elderly with reduced mobility, being statistically significant for Energy 75.8%, p=0.025; carbohydrate 68.8%, p= 0.013; and fiber 22.9%, p=0.035. The study showed that there is a significant association between food intake and reduced mobility among elderly people in IMIAS Brazil, since these elderly presented lower mean values of protein and fiber consumption, as well as insufficient consumption of energy, carbohydrate and fiber.
