Resumen
This paper focus on showing the use of the recorder as music education for
beginners, education and socialization in Cruzeta city. Also, it aims to approach an
historical view of the recorder. It states some facts about wind ensembles in Brazil
with emphasis on the history of “Banda de Cruzeta” (Cruzeta wind ensemble) and of
the “Banda de Flauta Doce Profª Margatet Keller” (Pro f. Margaret Kelle‟s Recorder
Ensemble). It has as main objective the observation of the teaching-learning process
at the “Escola de Música de Cruzeta” (Cruzeta‟s School of Music). This school is
pioneer on the region on the teaching and use of the recorder as music education
process for beginners. The recorder is the instrument that, throughout its practice,
gives to the students and musical living experience, social interaction, a motor
development and educational experience. The “Banda de Cruzeta” show itself as the
pioneer on the social and human development of children and young, with stress on
the utilization of the recorder as an “instrument of socialization”. This text has as
basis interviews semi-structured with individuals of the school, bibliographical
research, observations and reading of pictures.
