Resumen
This paper, which has as theme Rock in High School Music Education, is an experience report and it has a qualitative research character. The main objective of this work is to motivate teachers, whether they are beginners or veterans, to seek new musical teaching proposals for the youth and teenagers. Based on the musical activities of Rubens Guiaquinto, who developed a project with the genre Rock for schools in the outskirts of Minas Gerais, I was able to elaborate a musical education program through the history of Rock at the Santos Dumont State School in Parnamirim-RN. In this scenario, we worked on several important themes of the students' everyday life, such as racism and prejudice. Participants learned about how Rock influenced past generations in order to establish a link between society and the musical genre. The result obtained was the musical experience of the students who perform the Rock using corporal percussion, choral singing and group activities. By giving a direction to the music education for teenagers and youth, It can be seen the positive influence in the construction of the students maturity who have learned to observe new musical languages found within the musical genre mentioned.
