Resumen
At the beginning of the HIV/Aids epidemic in Brazil, a strong stigma was built up on those carrying the virus. The media, for example, elaborated to elaborate this imaginary. Expressions such as “aids” or “gay cancer”, widely publicized by the media, directly associated him with homosexuality. Prejudice is still the main obstacle to HIV prevention and treatment. It is under this context that this research is born. Its final product, the book-report, offers to listen to HIV-positive people about their experiences and, with this, show that journalistic discourse is an important tool for the deconstruction of prejudices.
