Resumen
The film Utopia e Barbárie (2010) tells the story of the famous generation that marked the second half of the twentieth century called the generation of 1968, by the look of its director Silvio Tendler. Nowadays, it is possible to notice the growth in the number of documentaries that have as story material the story told in the first person. Here we ask ourselves the aesthetic procedures used for this narrative and how it manifests the affectivity and the memories of its filmmakers. In the present work we carried out a case study about the film seeking to understand the subjective and intimate aspects of the director involved in the narrative. For that, we use as theoretical reference the concept of "biographical space" of Leonor Arfuch (2002), collective memory of Maurice Halbwachs (1950) and the concept of fragmented subject Stuart Hall (1996) to guide our analysis. Utopia e Barbárie, a first person essay film promotes a mixture of visual and sound elements to produce a documentary history, not enough does it for the personal bias of its director, who is the conductor of the story and through it reveals details of his life Personal making use of personal photographs, films and the voice over that represents him.
