Maconha medicinal é plantada no quintal: análise antropológica da construção de um movimento social em torno dos usos terapêuticos da maconha na cidade de Natal

Abstract

Faced with the worldwide scenario of discussion on medical marijuana, the present work aims to make an anthropological analysis of a social movement that advocates the legalization of marijuana for therapeutic use, the Liga Canábica-RN, under construction in the city of Natal. In addition to addressing the discussion about therapeutic experiences with the cannabis plant and its extracts - which I was able to follow through the Liga Canábica-RN and its patients - I also try to understand how these experiences are being mediated by scientific and medical knowledge, once the discovery of the endocannabinoid system is partly responsible for the change in the plant's social imaginary. I still intend to understand how the connections between people in the group take place, their virtual communications and collective initiatives, and / as well as how they organize themselves with the other agents that share the medical marijuana scene in the city.
