The changes in the hierarchical classification of roads presents a challenge as it requires new intersection projects that maintain good levels of service. Through microsimulation with the software VISSIM 10.0, this essay brings an operational study of a mini-roudabout with the intention of reducing the average delay and queue length perceived, in a “T” shaped intersection. The results show an improvement in traffic performance, both for the implementation of lay-by´s at nearby bus stops, as for the implementation of lay-by´s together with programmed traffic light signals at the intersection.
