Resumen
The present work aims to expose the importance of music education based on the
relationship between theory and practice and their contributions to the continuous
development process of music student. Music education and its relationship theory
versus practice evolved in the timeline of Greece to the nineteenth century, but
twentieth-century teaching methods that are established and able to suggest the
proper musical education, where the primacy of the student direct approach by
encouraging the maximum of experience before the music. Thus to give a view on
the phenomena reported here was developed a case study that compares the
thinking of the main architects of the cases considered active music education with
the practice of the School of Music Macaíba, especially regarding the activities of
orchestra of this institution.
