Utilização do modelo de grandes bacias hidrógráficas - MGB-IPH em reservatórios da bacia do rio Piranhas -Açu.

Abstract

The problems related to water resources in the semi-arid region of the Brazilian Northeast make it necessary to use some methodology to help define the hydrological behavior of a river basin, so that better planning can be done to solve the problems caused by the droughts. In this sense, the MGB-IPH is a great aid in the hydrological modeling of the basin. The model was then calibrated and applied in the Piranhas-Açu River Basin, in order to verify the use of the model in reservoirs present in the basin and compared the data calculated by the model with the data present in the Basin Plan. It was verified that the model obtained flow rates below the flows obtained in the Plan, due to the large reservoirs present in the basin, however, the calibration of the model presented a high Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency coefficient.
