This paper discusses practical-interpretative aspects during the process of collaboration between the author (composer-performer) and the composer Caio Pierangeli, which resulted in the work Arengarôa (2017). This work was inspired by the performance of Microplastic PET (2012) by Matthew Burtner, whose process is also described in this work. In both works, the compositional raw material stems from the use of plastic objects that are performed in conjunction with conventional percussion instruments. The plastic sonorities are processed electronically through computational support. Thus, the objective of this work is to describe the techniques developed by the performer and applied in plastic materials in the performance of percussion with the use of technological devices in real time. The methodology of this research consisted in the selection of plastic objects and in the realization of experimental workshops composed in three moments: a) construction with plastic (using the selected objects); b) the development of performance actions applied to plastics; c) and the creation of the computer system used for the sonority expansion. As a result of these steps, Tororó was created, an instrument exclusively developed for the interpretation of the Arengarôa (2017). As a preliminary result of this research, we highlight: the creation of Tororó; the development of techniques applied to plastics; the choice of the resulting sonorities; plastics amplification strategies; the creation of sound processing and the electronic interaction in real time.
