dc.description.abstractThis article deals with the Specialized Educational Assistance (AEE) with deaf students at the State School Professor Gerson Lopes, in the municipality of Apodi / RN. The general objective of the research is to know about the functioning and effectiveness of ESA in a public school of the municipal network. Methodologically, we used the interview and bibliographic research. In order to be a topic that has not yet been studied, we consider the research relevant. In relation to the theoretical revision we use the National Policy of Special Education in the Perspective of Inclusive Education (2008); Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education - LDB (1996); Damázio (2007); Mantoan (2003). At the end of our study, we find that the school provides the services of ESA and it is intended for students with special educational needs, the school itself and other educational institutions. And that it faces many difficulties for its realization, but that teachers do everything to give a quality education to those students who so badly need them, making them independent citizens capable of changing the world and of treading their own ways and build your own story.
