Resumen
This final paper aproachs the theme of the Students Assistance Policy in the scope of vocational education. The compulsory curricular internship experience at IFRN Campus Natal Cidade Alta, locus where this research took place, was primordial because it allowed closeness with this theme and the student’s reality. The main objective of this estudy was to analyze the contribution and impact that the Student's Training Support Program brought to the permanency of those imerse on social vulnerability among the student body, showing it’s representative meaning in the life of those who access this program. This program is part of the Student Assistance activities, and seeks to provide financial suport to social vulnerable students throught educative work. This research was bibliographical and documentary, thus, books, dissertations, final papers, documents, articles and websites related to the theme were consulted. The process of reading and analysis the institutional’s documents and instruments used to select students and evaluate the program were extremely important to this study, as well the legislations and current resolutions. The data analysis revealed the impacts that this program brings to it’s participants lives; highlighting the contribution towards the familiar income, although this is not a result planned for the program. It was also evident the contradictory feature of the student assistance policy expressed in the divergence caused by the significant number of students that fulfill the insertion criteria and the restricted access to few, considering the few vacancies and the inherent elegibility features in assistance programs.
