The role of leadership these days is something of paramount importance in the pursuit of achieving the organization's goals, something that has also been gaining ground in the public sector. This monograph aimed to portray the influence of leadership in the legislative guard of the Municipality of Natal, analyzing the sociodemographic profile of the staff and the profile and vision at work, in addition to investigating the style of active leadership. A bibliographic study on leadership in the public sector was necessary based on the ideas of Chiavenato, Maximiano and Gil, in addition to the application of a questionnaire on the google forms platform to 24 legislative guards of the service active in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. The research results showed that the followers were influenced according to the type of active leadership, since the management of commands changes according to the management of the board of directors, every 2 years. As a result, the democratic style was predominant in the guard framework in the current management and made it clear that leadership exerts a direct influence on the performance of these professionals, while when their needs and expectations are not met, it discourages them from carrying out an efficient work. it is efficient.A atuação da liderança atualmente é algo de suma importância na busca do alcance de objetivos da organização, algo que vem ganhando espaço também no setor público. Esta monografia teve como objetivo retratar a influência da liderança na guarda legislativa da Câmara Municipal de Natal, analisando o perfil sociodemográfico do quadro de servidores e o perfil e visão no trabalho, além de averiguar sobre o estilo de liderança atuante. Fez-se necessário um estudo bibliográfico sobre a liderança no setor público com base nas ideias de Chiavenato, Maximiano e Gil, além da aplicação de um questionário na plataforma do google forms a 24 guardas legislativos do serviço atuante em Natal, no Rio Grande do Norte. Os resultados da pesquisa mostraram que os liderados foram influenciados de acordo com o tipo de liderança atuante, visto que a gestão de comandos muda conforme a gestão da mesa diretora, a cada 2 anos. Ainda como resultado, o estilo democrático teve predominância no quadro da guarda na atual gestão e deixou claro que a liderança exerce influência direta no desempenho desses profissionais ao passo que quando suas necessidades e expectativas não são atendidas, desmotiva-os na realização de um trabalho eficiente e eficaz.
