| dc.description | Introduction: The city of Natal has gained national and international prominence due to its high rates of violence. As a result, the consequences of violence have become a serious public health problem, as they require the assistance of health services and their professionals, including dental surgeons. Objective: to know the incidence of external aggressions, the profile of victims and aggressors, the prevalence in the face and mouth, their determinants and the place of occurrence in the city of Natal, from 2009 to 2016. Methodology: cross-sectional study with data collected from the morbidity databases provided by the Epidemiological sector of the Natal Municipal Secretariat of Health and by the Violence and Accident Surveillance Report (VIVA) from 2009 to 2016. The analyzes were performed using Excel and TerraView-4.2.2. Results: Regarding the victim's profile, 68.04% were female, brown (67.24%), single (59.91%) and with incomplete elementary school (25.13%). Residence was the most prevalent place of occurrence (31.20%), the aggressor was male (54.93%) and related to the victim in 60.4% of the cases. Such aggressions were recurrent in 39.36% and commonly physical (87.82%), mainly in the head / face region (31.21% in 2009 and 31.93% in 2011). The east and west zones stood out in the distribution of notifications in the municipality of Natal. Conclusion: Natal violence occurs in large steps and black / brown women are the main victims. Thus, it is up to the dentist to know the victim's profile in order to organize prevention mechanisms, analyzing individual risk factors, providing professional help and support to the victims. | |
| dc.description | Introdução: o município de Natal tem ganhado destaque nacional e internacional devido às suas altas taxas de violência. Em função disso, as sequelas da violência tornaram-se um sério problema de saúde pública, na medida em que necessitam da assistência dos serviços de saúde e dos seus profissionais, dentre estes os cirurgiões dentistas. Objetivo: conhecer a incidência das agressões externas, o perfil das vítimas e dos agressores, a prevalência na face e boca, seus determinantes e o local de ocorrência no município de Natal, no período de 2009 a 2016. Metodologia: estudo transversal realizado com dados coletados dos bancos de dados de morbidade cedidos pelo setor Epidemiológico da Secretaria Municipal de Saúde de Natal e pelo Relatório de Vigilância de Violência e Acidentes (VIVA) de 2009 a 2016. As análises foram realizadas através dos programas Excel e TerraView-4.2.2. Resultados: Quanto ao perfil da vítima, 68,04% eram do sexo feminino, pardos (67,24%), solteiros (59,91%) e com o ensino fundamental incompleto (25,13%). A residência foi o local de ocorrência mais prevalente (31,20%), o agressor era do sexo masculino (54,93%) e se relacionava com a vítima em 60,4% dos casos. Tais agressões eram recorrentes em 39,36% e comumente de natureza física (87,82%), principalmente na região cabeça/face (31,21% em 2009 e 31,93% em 2011). As zonas leste e oeste se destacaram na distribuição de notificações no município de Natal. Conclusão: A violência em natal ocorre em passos largos e são as mulheres negras/pardas as principais vítimas. Sendo assim cabe ao cirurgião-dentista conhecer o perfil da vítima afim de organizar mecanismos de prevenção, analisando os fatores individuais de risco, fornecendo ajuda profissional e apoio as vítimas. | |
