Abstract
In this work, the dynamic modeling and control design for an electromagnetic frequency regulator device applied to a hybrid generation system that uses wind and solar
energy sources and a storage system is performed. With the high penetration of distributed
generation systems based on renewable energy sources, it is necessary to develop technologies to improve the efficiency of their operation. Among the solutions proposed in the
literature, the electromagnetic frequency regulator has proven to be an attractive solution
to improve the performance of generation systems based on wind sources. This device
applied to the implemented hybrid generation system has the constructive characteristics
of a two-pole squirrel cage induction motor with a nominal power of 1.5 kW and a frequency of 60 Hz. The controllers parameters applied to the electromagnetic frequency
regulator are designed from according to the roots locus method to obtain the desired dynamic performance. Besides, a dynamic analysis for the closed-loop system is performed
to evaluate the effects of variations in system parameters on the controllers dynamic response. Finally, simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the dynamic modeling
performed and the proposed controller design method.
