Resumen
(INTRODUCTION) The medium and long term problems experienced by COVID-19 survivors after hospital discharge are currently unknown. There is evidence that patients with "mild" COVID-19 may complain of persistent symptoms even weeks after infection. (OBJECTIVE) In this sense, the aim of this paper was to investigate, by means of a systematic review of the literature, the post-covid-19 or covid-long syndrome, and the sequelae that coronavirus may cause in different organs/systems in patients who were diagnosed with COVID-19 after recovering from the acute phase of the disease, as well as to present the risk factors that may be associated with the chances of developing the post-COVID-19 syndrome. (METHODOLOGY) PRISMA was used as a protocol and narrative synthesis was used to report the findings. Two electronic databases were used to conduct the searches. The quality of the articles was evaluated by the Sucupira platform. (RESULTS) A total of 1177 publications were found in the electronic databases. (CONCLUSION) It was concluded that approximately half of the population that had the disease remains feeling some symptom, even after months and even years, and many may develop symptoms that previously did not feel, such as increased blood pressure, cognitive sequelae and erectile dysfunction.
