Inventario da Igreja Evangélica Assembleia de Deus de São João do Sabugi/RN

Abstract

This research aims to inventory the immaterial culture of the Evangelical Church Assembly of God in São João do Sabugi (RN). We focus our spiritual work done in this institution, an approach to organizational rites performed in the church, exposing how they are practiced in the institution, where it seeks to establish a personal relationship with the spiritual. Methodologically inspired us in the National Inventory of Cultural References adopted by IPHAN and adapted here to the reality that we research, we chose to focus on a specific group of people within the evangelical religious institution, establishing a critical dialogue with the "sources" through the lines of respondents, who mostly are members active in the Church Assembly of God. This inventory is justified because is necessary to show the importance of evangelical churches that have been seen as a mere appendage of society, so that its influence in the social areas, specifically in the municipality of São João do Sabugi/RN, at first, was considered insignificant or simply non-existent.
