Resumen
The growing extractive activity in forest areas, the inefficient use of management practices, combined with the intensification of socioeconomic activities, are the main agents in the loss of biodiversity. Aiming at reducing environmental impacts, the genetic characterization of populations acts in making inferences about the real situation they are in. At the same time, the phenological study is an important tool to know the different reproductive and vegetative patterns of plants. Thus, it is essential to understand the ecological aspects of the species, and it is essential to establish strategies aimed at the management and conservation of natural populations. Thus, the study will aim to evaluate the ecological aspects of Syagrus cearensis through studies of phenology and genetic diversity in forest fragments in Rio Grande do Norte. In the phenology, sampling will involve 20 individuals following the phenophases: desfoliation, enfoliation, flower buds, flowers, immature fruits and ripe fruits. In terms of genetic diversity, the populations AQU (Aquicultura), MTB (Mata do Bebo) and MOD (Mata Olho d´água) will be sampled, totaling 64 individuals. The DNA will be extracted and then amplified by Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), and the products will be subjected to agarose gel electrophoresis. Calculations of the genetic diversity of the population and estimates of genetic similarities between the genotypes will be performed. In phenology there was the occurrence of vegetative and reproductive events throughout the time, however the latter had low intensity. Vegetative events showed a negative and significant correlation for precipitation, temperature and relative humidity. The activity and intensity of flower buds showed a significant and negative correlation with temperature. The flower intensity indices were significant and negative for temperature and insolation. The activity of immature fruits showed a positive and significant correlation with wind speed, indicating a higher frequency of individuals with immature fruits in periods of higher wind intensity. The AQU population presented the highest polymorphism index (71%) and the highest genetic diversity index, compared to the MTB and MOD populations. The bayesian analysis identified the existence of two groups (K = 2). The presence of a genetic bottleneck was detected in the populations AQU and MOD. Thus, the phenological events of S. cearensis present continuous frequency with the influence of climatic variables. In this way, these mechanisms will assist in the establishment of conservation, sustainable use and genetic improvement strategies.
