This course conclusion work is an experience report on aspects related to the process of adapting face-to-face music teaching to the emergency remote teaching modality, within the scope of the project of Severino Cordeiro School of Music (in Portuguese: Escola de Música Severino Cordeiro-EMUSCO), developed at Ferreira Itajubá Municipal School, in Natal/RN. Due to the social distance resulting from COVID-19, EMUSCO's activities were initially paralyzed and its faculty had to adapt its teaching methodology to the new reality. Considering this, the work has as general objective to present challenges and achievements of music teaching in EMUSCO Project, as a result of COVID-19 pandemic, reporting the entire process of adapting face-to-face music education to the emergency remote teaching modality in the period of the pandemic, also understanding the possible forms of organization for that teaching modality, identifying the main difficulties and seeking to minimize the impact that the health crisis caused to education in general. To assist the reflections in the course of the report, the theoretical foundation is based on concepts related to the Brazilian theme of Emergency Remote Teaching (ERE), as well as aspects related to Distance Learning (DE), approaching authors such as Tokarina (2020), Paixão (2020), Ribeiro (2019) and Valente (2010), also seeking to reflect on the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) applied to music teaching. The results of the report pointed to a satisfactory musical learning, despite the different scenario from that one commonly experienced within the scope of the Project, as well as highlighting the main difficulties and potentialities in music teaching and in the maintenance of cultural activities in the virtual format.
